The correct solution depends on snack moisture, fat content, shape, serving pattern, shelf-life target, filling process, transport conditions, and the level of barrier protection required.

Begin with the Snack Characteristics
Biscuits, jerky, dental chews, freeze-dried meat, soft treats, and training snacks have different packaging needs. Dry biscuits can absorb humidity and lose crispness. Meat-based snacks may be sensitive to oxygen, while oily treats require materials that resist grease migration.
Sharp bones or irregular pieces can puncture a laminate that works well for smooth products. The manufacturer should therefore receive samples or accurate information about product dimensions, hardness, density, oil content, and water activity.
Determine the Required Barrier

Validate the Finished Bag
